2026 Scholarship Application

Scholarship Instructions

As an ever-growing dedication to our youth, HTELC provides access to scholarships that helps break down barriers & open doors for an overall success in life.  The window for our annual scholarship submission is April 1st – May 15th.

Scholarship criteria listed below is for graduating High School Seniors, Undergraduate/Graduate College students.

 

• Must be an active member or close relative of an active member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

• Must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (some 2.0)

• Must be accepted to an accredited, community college, 4-year college or university

• Must submit (1) 300 word essay entitled “Why You are Interested in this Scholarship”

• Must submit (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher and a counselor

• Specific to the Erma Anderson Scholarship

1. 3.0 Minimum GPA   

2. 500 word essay entitled “Why I Should Be The Recipient of The Erma Anderson Scholarship” 

3. Perform at least 20 hours of volunteer service for HTELC. Verifiable documentation must be provided prior to distribution of funds

 

Required Submission Materials to be considered for the scholarship you must submit the following:  

• Completed online HTELC Scholarship Application (www.holytrinityinglewood.org)

• Un-official hard copy (scanned, emailed or mailed) of your most recent transcript     

  (Screen Shots not accepted)

• Copy or copies of your college acceptance letters

 

All requested information listed above must be received by Mr. Winston on or before 5:00 pm May 15, 2026

Scholarships Descriptions
For High School Seniors Only


Betty Jean Stephens Scholarship: Awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college.

 

Beal Family Scholarship:  Awarded to graduating high school seniors who are going into college and must be an attending member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

 

Erma Anderson Memorial Scholarship: For graduating high school seniors going on to a 4year college who have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

 

Dell Shields Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded only once every four years to a graduating high school senior who plans to attend a four-year college with a focused program of study or major that can lead to a career involved with the planning, organizing or advocating for change in community and/or professional organizations with the ultimate goal of protecting and supporting the rights and lives of individuals within those communities or organizations. (Not Active for 2026)

 

 

For High School Seniors and Undergraduate/Graduate College Students

Calvin Luke Monteilh Scholarship: Awarded to graduating high school senior males who plan to attend college.

 

Regine and Andria Caruthers Scholarship: Awarded to a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate student who exhibits leadership qualities while maintaining high academic standards.

Dr. Lee B. Stephens Jr. Scholarship: Awarded to graduating high school seniors and
undergraduate/graduate college students planning to pursue or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate college degree, with preference given those pursuing a degree in the sciences.

Geri Gorum Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate/graduate college students pursuing or planning to pursue a college degree in the arts or the medical field.


Beauford E. Anderson Scholarship for the Arts: Awarded to graduating high school
seniors and undergraduate college students who are either planning to pursue already pursuing a major in the arts (e.g., fine arts, graphic arts, performing arts, visual arts)

Coral L. Shields Scholarship: Awarded to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate college students pursuing or planning to pursue a career in nursing or the medical field.

 

Cottrell Thomas Scholarship: Awarded to applicant who is pursuing a degree in sociology/social work, education or science.  Must be an active member or one who attends regularly.  Student may apply if they have at least a 2.0 GPA, as long as they continue to improve in their studies.

Chance A. Crawford Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to applicant who a high school senior or single parent returning to school to further their education with a degree in the Arts. Student may apply if they have at least a 2.0 GPA. (e.g., painting, drawing, Theatre, Performing Arts, Music, Dance, Graphic Design, Animation, Art, Creative Writing, Film and Photography)

 

TVL Rising Artist Scholarship: The TVL Rising Artist Scholarship supports high school and college students who are passionate about the arts, including visual arts, music, dance, theater, film, creative writing, and digital media. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. This scholarship recognizes creativity, dedication, and artistic potential, and is designed to help remove financial barriers so emerging artists can continue pursuing their creative goals.

For Students Going into the Ministry

 

Pastor’s Scholarship :  Awarded to students who are pursuing education with the goal of doing some form of Christian ministry.
